Newest Creation

This is the Patton Grace Pattern that I used to created this lovely brown crocheted sweater. However, I used "I Love That Cotton" 4 ply instead of Patton Grace 3 ply. I also did not add beads that the pattern called for.
This is the detail of the skirt portion of this empire waisted sweater.

This is the bare midriff panel between the top part and the skirt. Since I don't do bare midriff I added a bronze shimmery fawn material behind the crochet.

This is the finished sweater. This particular one has a 54" chest.

Project to Bless Others

Having formed a group on Facebook to help make blankets for Project Linus I am also finding interest in pursuing other mission projects among the people who have joined the group. Hopefully that means that we will be able to get a group going at the church to provide articles for several different missions. I have also had at least one other woman express the desire to get together to work on projects. I am going to meet with her on Thursday to discuss just what we may want to do and where. That really has me excited about doing this mission. I would like to get a group going like Sherrie Bashem has at First United Methodist in Athens. I hope is to be able to provide articles for Project Linus (blankets), the Downtown Rescue Mission or Storehouse (warm hats, scarves, etc.), and whatever might be needed for Red Bird Mission and Upper Sand Mountain, as well as the orphanages in Costa Rica and Romania. Need to also get together with John Bailey to determine if there are any other missions that might have need for items that we could make. I may not be able to travel to foreign countries or open my home up to host missionaries but I can at least contribute in these ways to the missions efforts of others.

New Project in Brown Cotton

I have started a new project in "I Love That Cotton" 4 ply cotton brown. I is a crocheted summer sweater, pattern also has a matching handbag. I'm a little skeptical on how this is going to turn out as the pattern actually calls for Pattons Grace which is a 3 ply cotton yarn. I am also not using glass beads that the pattern calls for. I will also add some sort of light weight fabric such as fawn or eyelet to the open weave midriff band. At my age I don't do mostly bare midriffs. So far the fit appears to be good but will have to wait until I have more of the pattern done.
